After her parents separate, Margot, a marginal pre-teen, sets herself the challenge of reuniting her family. One day, on her way home from school, she discovers to her amazement that a stranger has moved in with her and seems to have bewitched her father. Margot, increasingly troubled by the inexplicable phenomena surrounding this strange stepmother, is convinced that she is dealing with a real evil witch. Determined to save her family, Margot enlists the help of Madame Dalloway, a so-called occult scholar, hoping that she can help her get rid of the intruder who has taken her family hostage.
